Photaire Studios - Artist Statement

My work focuses on storytelling through dramatic lighting, bold editing and creative set + costuming design. Every image tells a unique story, whether it’s a fantastical image heavily edited to create something new or a raw image capturing a tender moment. No matter the subject matter, I focus on bringing the story to attention first and foremost. High contrast and flashy colors are vital to my style. I take inspiration from the queen of modern fashion photography herself, Lindsay Adler, as well as the incredibly talented Dan McClanahan. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting both of these artists and have learned plenty from their workshops + conversations, such as how wonderful it is to capture what you love. I am also heavily inspired by my four wonderful professors who taught me everything I know and love about the artform: Shannon Graham, Ty Bellfy, Molly Long, and Adam Hunter. Through beautiful lighting techniques, professional editing and my love of creativity, my work embodies dynamic elements of storytelling and will always demand the viewers attention.
